Update on Using EndNote to Manage the NIHMSID & PMCID Numbers (NIH Public Access Policy),

EndNote has new connection, style and output files available that incorporate the PMCID field when citing journal articles.(As of May 25, 2008, when citing an article in NIH applications, proposals, and progress reports, you must include the PMCID at the end of the full citation.) Follow the instructions at the EndNote download site to install the updated files. Please note that there are different instructions for versions X, X1 and X2.

When citing an article in NIH applications, proposals, and progress reports, you must include the PMCID (or NIHMSID, if the PMCID is not available) at the end of the full citation. (This only applies to articles that fall under the NIH Public Access Policy and are authored or co-authored by you or arose from your NIH award.)
